Jennifer McAfee

Owner and instructor

A born and raised "Marylander", Jenny's love of dance comes from her young start in music. Growing up in a musical family (her father played the guitar and mother played the piano), Jenny took up the violin at the age of 6.  Taking lessons for the next 12 years, Jenny learned the immense affect music could have on people which led to her dabble in other instruments including the clarinet, french horn, hand bells and guitar.  With multiple recitals accompanied with each instrument, performing in front of an audience became the norm for her at a young age.

Jenny was also influenced by her Pakistani heritage.  As a young girl she remembers mimicking dance moves from Indian movies with her sister and cousins to  perform for family weddings and parties. As time went on, Jenny decided to take her dancing to the professional level by training, teaching and performing with a top franchised, ballroom dance studio for 6 years.

After receiving her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland (Go Terps!), Jenny and her husband opened Annapolis Social Dance to share the joy of dance in the city they now call home.
